Richard Paul, a leading scholar in the field of critical thinking, proposes a set of intellectual standards- such as accuracy, fairness, breadth, and logicality-for the proper evaluation of thought. Similarly, Islamic teachings and Quranic principles emphasize the importance of sound reasoning and critical reflection as essential foundations of genuine faith. However ,certain fideist thinkers, notably Kierkegaard, contend that some religious narratives-such as the story of Prophet Abraham and The command to sacrifice his son- are grounded in absolute faith, thereby excluding the role of rational inquiry. This study critically examines Kierkegaard`s fideistic interpretation of the Abrahamic narrative by reassessing the character of prophet Abraham through the lens of critical thinking standards. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the research demonstrates that Abraham`s methods of communication and decision-marking embody key elements of critical thinking, thereby challenging the notion of pure fideism in this narrative. Contrary to its literal appearance, the story reveals underlying rational and logical foundations in Abraham`s decision, offering a reinterpretaion aligned with reasoned faith.
