A semantic study of the Qur’anic vocabulary, which is wisely embedded within the coherent structure of surahs and verses, enables the construction of an integrated network of profound meanings in this sacred text. Each surah is formed within a purposeful and specific discursive structure, and the lexical system of each surah is deliberately organized in accordance with its guiding objective. The present study, adopting an analytical approach with a focus on lexical semantics in the context of Surah Al-Buruj, investigates the cognitive mechanisms that sustain faith in the face of trials and suffering. The findings indicate that the surah’s lexical system is designed in alignment with its discourse—namely, the reinforcement of faith amidst adversity—and conveys a message of perseverance and steadfastness to believers through unique words and expressions such as Buruj, Maw‘ūd, Shāhid and Mashhūd, Shahīd, Aṣḥāb al-Akhḍūd, Qa‘ūd, Intiqām, Baṭsh, Muḥīṭ, Maḥfūẓ, and Fawz Kabīr.
Further analysis of the study reveals that the lexical field of this surah is organized in a protective and vigilant structure; the words do not function in isolation but rather within an interconnected network, linked to the surah’s discursive context, thereby reflecting deeper layers of the functions of enduring faith.
