In positive psychology, gratitude and attention to its effects on individual and social life is an emerging topic. In the Quran, God, by mentioning abundant blessings, which are "innumerable" in the divine sense, repeatedly reminds man of his well-being and the material and spiritual means in his possession, and asks man to achieve his growth to perfection by being grateful for his blessings and benefiting from their benefits. At the same time, gratitude as a moral concept in the Quran and gratitude as a concept regarding social customs in positive psychology make it necessary to examine the nature of these two concepts in the Quran and psychology. This research is a comparative study of genealogical type that examines the composition and functions of the two topics of gratitude and appreciation in the Quran and positive psychology. The purpose of this research is to express the similarities and differences in essence and key components in the two mentioned areas. Based on the results of the research, the Holy Quran has a fundamentalist and functionalist view on the topic of gratitude and appreciation, based on the self-made Quranic foundation; Unlike positive psychology, which presents the issue purely functionally. Also, despite apparent similarities, gratitude in the Quran and positive psychology have a difference in nature and paradigm and are based on different intellectual systems.
