Within the cosmic system, there exist two fundamental realities known as the Throne (Arsh) and the Footstool (Kursi). These concepts have been extensively explored and analyzed by numerous scholars and schools of thought, particularly by Allameh Tabatabaei and the Sufi mystic Ibn Arabi. While both perspectives delve into the nature and significance of the Throne and Footstool within the cosmic order, their interpretations exhibit both similarities and differences. This research aims to provide a comparative analysis of the Throne and Footstool, examining the viewpoints of Allameh Tabatabaei and the Sufi school of Ibn Arabi using descriptive, analyticaland critical methods. Allameh Tabatabaei posits that the Throne and Footstool represent a single, unified reality that exists in both general and specific forms. The essence or general form is the Throne, while the manifestation or specific form is the Footstool. These realities are situated within the realm of intellects.Ibn Arabi, on the other hand, conceptualizes the Throne as a circular form that emerged at the beginning of the world of exemplars and encompasses the entire realm of forms and the kingdom. This Throne, specifically referred to as the Throne of the Merciful, is distinct from other types of thrones. The key findings of this research can be summarized as follows:1.The Throne and Footstool are distinct realities representing different levels of God's active knowledge.2.The bearers of the Throne are primarily associated with the Footstool.3.The Throne is a unified entity with multiple functions, and attributes such as "great," "generous," and "glorious" describe its nature rather than representing different types of Thrones.
