Abstract
This research aimed to explain and classify the types of semantic relationships between the concluding sentences (fawasil) of Quranic verses and their content, based on Tafsir Nemouneh. The central question is: How do exegetes in one of the most important contemporary Persian commentaries view Quranic fawasil and their semantic connection with the content of the verses? Can their approach be presented as a semantic relationship model? This descriptive-analytical study used a text-oriented approach. Data were collected by purposefully selecting verses from Tafsir Nemouneh where exegetes explicitly addressed the relationship between fawasil and content. These were then categorized and analyzed based on semantic commonalities into two main groups: "structural-thematic correspondences" and "audience-action correspondences." The findings indicate that in Tafsir Nemouneh, the fawasil of verses have diverse and structured semantic functions. In the domain of structural-thematic correspondences, these functions include emphasis, causation, interpretation and explanation, supplementation, and conclusion. In the domain of audience-action correspondences, functions such as encouragement, warning, threat, consolation and reassurance, and reproach are observed. These connections not only contribute to the internal coherence of the verses but also serve as an exegetical tool to explain divine intentions and guide the audience. Consequently, this study concludes that attention to the semantic relationship between fawasil and content in Tafsir Nemouneh provides a systematic model for understanding the deeper layers of Quranic meanings. The categorization presented in this research can serve as a basis for comparative studies in other commentaries and for strengthening text analysis methods in the field of Quranic sciences.
